Operation 365 2... Blog 157

Operation 365 2 - Jefferson Jay - Originals – 157 “The Deeper You Dive” by Jefferson Jay

Golly gosh. Outdoors is nice. Camping and such… Mother Nature seems like a distant ex. There’s lots to do and not much time, especially as we wax nostalgic and keep yourself endlessly occupied. Sometimes the deeper we dive, the further we leap away from where we need to be. Sometimes we need to be shaken out of our groove. Just to get back in the groove of doing what we love most. We can forget what that is from time to time. Too busy we are saying good-bye, when there’s still time left to say hi and fly.

Operation 365 2 - Jefferson Jay - Covers – 157 “Let It Go” by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez

Yes, letting go when tensions, one’s habits, one’s bad moods. These are great gifts, not to give away so much, but to let go. I’ve never seen “Frozen,” but I’ve never seen “Beauty and the Beast’ or “The Lion King,” either so that’s not saying much. I have heard this song a bunch though. Not enough to really know how it goes. Enough to have fun though. Can’t be worried so much about things, about what you think you like and what you think you should be doing. Be and be free. Let it go. Let it all go. The last words of the first 365 remind. “Peace. Be free. Release” Every day. Over and Over repeat.

Operation 365 2 - Jefferson Jay - Words – 157 "No Quarter" by Led Zeppelin

So, in keeping with the tradition of the "Words" section being a true creative catch-all, today we have a cover. A couple days ago, I was having fun playing around with this version of "No Quarter."I checked and saw I did what must have been a truly skimpy cover of this jam back in the original 365. It had to be 'cause I don't recall it at all. This version is anything but polished but it is neat, 'cause it is different. I think this "arrangement" has potential. It is with that mindset that I share it. Hope you dig the adorable Nigel, myself and the sights and sounds of an OB alley in this bouncy take on Zeppelin's epic "No Quarter."
