I will be sharing this entire set of The Greens of Mind at The Athenaeum Music and Arts Library in La Jolla, CA on June 8, 2009. This our second song that, "What's Lost In The Word That We Don't Say." The Greens of Mind. The Greens of Mind are myself on guitar, Barbara Tolbert on vocals, Charlotte James on violin and guitar and Justin Mills on cello. Occasionally we switch it up and play different instruments, but usually that is how the lineup looks.

The amazing cinematography in these clips comes courtesy of Steve Laub and Dave Foster of Laubster Video. A huge thanks to those guys. All Greens members are songwriters in their own right. "What's Lost In The Word That We Don't Say" was written by me. It was one of the first tunes we did in The Greens. Enjoy.

Operation 365 - Jefferson Jay - Covers - 176 "Get Behind The Mule" by Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan

"Get Behind The Mule" is one of the many awesome tunes on Tom Waits' 1999 album "Mule Variations." This one, like many of Waits later material was co-written by Waits and his wife, Kathleen Brennan. Tom Waits is great and I'm not just saying that because it rhymes. I saw him live once, in Oakland, on this tour. He got like four encores and he deserved each one of them.

I am finally beginning to recover from my sickness. My voice is still a little ragged, so I decided to go with it and do a Waits tune. For those who don;t know, Tom Waits has a distinctive, raspy voice. He rules. He proves there is no one way thing to do things and that true creativity acknowledges no limits. Nice work, Tom.
