Operation 365... Blog 104

Operation 365 - Jefferson Jay - Archives - 112 Robin Lee 4-16-2009 "Sleep When I'm Dead"

Decided to go with more Robin Lee today. When I opened my set from my birthday two years ago, 4-16-2009. I realized yesterday's clip was not from that day. So I delved into my archives on a search for yesterday's Robin Lee clip. Eventually, I found it was really from 4-2-2009, not 4-16. I went back and changed. This is really from my birthday two years ago. Jack Davidson joins Robin here on lead guitar. Here, she is playing one of her most classic jams, "Sleep When I'm Dead." Hail Robin.

NOTE: So. It's September 10th now. Researching, I realized in my enthusiasm to post Robin's whole set from 4-16-09, I accidentally posted Robin Lee's 4-16-2009 version of "Sleep When I'm Dead" a second time. What to do? The best solution I could come up with was to replace this first one with another clip from April 2, 2009 and that's what I'm gonna do. They say you can never go back again. I say, you can try anyway. I will be removing this link, because it is now posted here,

and because if I don't pull it, youtube may eventually figure it out and pull it itself. So I will spare them that responsibility. Jack Davidson joins Robin here too. I don't know the name of this song.

In a rare move, I decided yesterday that I wanted to do "I'll Feel A Whole Better." Interesting, perhaps a self-fulfilling prophecy, I am longing to feel a bit better. A mixture of exhausted and worn down, working, preparing for the tour, Rehearsing a lot. Hoping I didn't accidentally slice my tendon when I mistakenly cut my wrist months ago. I'm going to see Dr. Handler, the hand doctor on Monday. Wish me luck. Peace. Taking care of this responsibility gives me one less me to do. I learned of this tune through Tom Petty's version on "Full Moon Fever."

It got to be time to do my original video for today. We've been rehearsing a lot for our upcoming tour lately. We were working today. Wes suggested I make something up and play that for today. I tried to make something up, but initially I accidentally played my tune, "Wooden Boats." I'm a little fried, so I knew I would need to write something real quick and play it. I wrote this. Took me five minutes to find the last chord. Wes and I jammed it a few times. He is rocking out on the drums these days.

A lot of philosophical discussions about success in music these days. It's tiring. Important. Tiring. I like this song though. Looking forward to playing shows in Northern California. I think it's about escapism in our modern world. Or something.
